Dark Days

Amazing movie – just finished it. It was a documentary about the homeless community in NYC that live in the subway tunnels. Looked for the website but it’s gone. While surfing I came across a few other movies I’d like to watch

  • Strange Fruit (also want to find the Billie Holliday version of the poem)
  • My Brother’s Keeper
  • Into The Arms of Strangers
  • Paradise Lost: The Child Murders at Robin Hood Hills

Any one seen these or have others to recommend?

    Lewis allen

    Southern trees bear strange fruit,
Blood on the leaves and blood at the root,
Black bodies swinging in the southern breeze,
Strange fruit hanging from the poplar trees.

Pastoral scene of the gallant south,
The bulging eyes and the twisted mouth,
Scent of magnolias, sweet and fresh,
Then the sudden smell of burning flesh.

Here is fruit for the crows to pluck,
For the rain to gather, for the wind to suck,
For the sun to rot, for the trees to drop,
Here is a strange and bitter crop.
